The organ rises from the orchestra pit on a motorized lift.
They just don't make lobbies like this anymore.....
Current seating, 990 plus 11 handicap spaces.
Isn't this a masterpiece???
Repainted in 2003, the interior was redone in a color scheme designed by the late Joseph DuciBella, the premier interior designer of this style of architecture in the country.  There are no color photos of the original paint scheme from 1928, so it was decided to be "true to the period" but not attempt to reproduce the original colors.  The repainting took two men 1 year to complete.  The gold paint is real gold, not imitation gold which would tarnish over time.  Our organ is a Wurlitzer 3 manual, 10 rank instrument that is actually from 1924 and came from a theatre in Indiana.  The original Wurlitzer installed in 1928 was much smaller, and was removed in 1932.  Further info on the organ is on the Tivoli History page.
